Is there a way to turn off the monitor mirroring by default when an external display is connected? What I want on my new Macbook pro (Snow Leop) is it to behave like my old PowerBook (Tiger): when I attach external projector, the projector gets the extension of my desktop and is NOT mirroring my main desktop.
The reason is: I only want to connect the external display/projector when publicly presenting something. But I also consider my desktop as a private space. So I don't want the public to observe my desktop while I am switching off the mirroring either by keyboard shortcut or by the preference pane.
So - is there a way to change the default behaviour when external display is connected?

- As have said, I currently have OS 9.2 and OS 10.2 installed on the original Mirror Door's 80Gb Hard Disk. I have installed a second 160 Gb Hard Disk which has OS 10.5 installed but in OS 9 the mac does not 'see' the new disk.

The Apple Mac is undoubtedly a powerful device designed to complete the most difficult tasks in a matter of seconds. One of the many great features of an Apple MacBook or laptop is its in-built support for AirPlay mirroring. AirPlay mirroring can be used to cast your Mac's screen on your TV. Mirror your Mac, iMac or MacBook on the big TV screen. Download the app and stream your video, movies and apps without Airplay or an Apple TV.
